The Annual Historic Irvington Home TourThe Home Tour is a special day where we show our pride in this wonderful neighborhood. The Home Tour is the sole source of revenue for the ICA, which uses the funds exclusively to support local charities and neighborhood projects. Tickets -Times - Taking the Tour - Rules - Volunteers - Sign-up for our Email ListTickets: The charge for the Tour itself is $20 per person for guests of all ages. Advance ticket purchase is strongly encouraged. Please note: Infants and children under age 7 are not permitted on the Tour except for infants carried at all times in "front packs". See Rules below... Here are the ways to buy tickets:
Times: Tour homes are open from 11 a.m. to 5:00 pm the day of the Tour. No one is admitted before or after those designated times. Typically, you can plan to spend 2 to 2-1/2 hours seeing all the homes, but you may visit the homes in any order and stay as long as you wish at each one during the hours of the tour. Taking the Tour: Present your tickets at the locations designated on the tickets. For many tickets this will designate the Portland White House Bed and Breakfast (map), but other tickets will ask you to start your Tour at one of the other homes on the Tour. There you will be given the printed program which lists the homes, provides a map showing all locations, includes descriptions of sites along the way, and explains what you will see in each home. This program is your admission pass to each home. You will need it to be admitted. Each home is staffed with volunteer docents, who are knowledgeable about the home and its features and will be happy to answer your questions or pass them along to the owners, who typically are available for your questions and comments too. If the weather is nice, most Tour attendees walk between the homes. This is a residential neighborhood, and as such, the only available parking is on-street. Please be considerate of the residents and don't block driveways. Unfortunately, due to the historic nature of the homes on the tour, accessibility is typically very limited for the mobility impaired due the entrance stairs and stairs to second and third floors; however the needs of mobility impaired individuals will be accommodated within the physical limits of the buildings and the availability of Tour volunteers to provide assistance. We apologize in advance for the occasional lines which form outside some of the homes. During peak times, we are not always able to accommodate guests at some homes as quickly as we'd like. When this occurs, we will advise people in line of homes where lines are shorter. We hope that you will agree with us that the great homes on the Tour are definitely worth the short wait and your patience. Typically lines are longest later in the afternoon, and we recommend you arrive as close to the opening time of the Tour as possible to avoid lines. Rules: These ensure that an enjoyable and safe experience is had by all.
** Restrooms for tour patrons are available at designated locations Volunteers: Volunteers are essential for the Tour to be successful and we need you. In exchange for working no more than three hours on Tour Day, you will receive a free ticket to the Tour. Volunteering is fun for anyone who enjoys older homes and is a tremendous way to support the community. See the Tour Volunteers page on this site for more information. Email List: Keep informed of the latest information on this website and notices of when tickets go on sale on this site. We won't swamp you with un-necessary emails, just let you know about things you're interested in as an enthusiast of great vintage homes:
